1. |
Masters in Medical Education (MMEd) Course shall be of two academic years. |
Admission and duration of the course |

2. |
Candidates will be selected for the course strictly on the basis of merit in Admission test, which shall consist of written examinations and oral Examination as is applicable. |

The Candidate shall have to complete one year internship and have at least one year teaching experience for MBBS degree holder and two years teaching experience for BDS degree holder. |

Examination for the degree of the Master in Medical Education (MMEd) Course shall be held in January and July every year or at such time as Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) may determine |

Examinations will be conducted by examiners not below the rank of Associate Professor must having the degree on health professions education/medical education as one of the following degrees: PhD, MSc, MMEd, MHPEd or equivalent degree rocognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC) duly appointed by the Controller of Examinations as per the recommendation of the Dean of the Faculty of Basic Science & Paraclinical Science, BSMMU. |

A candidate shall be required to undergo a course of 2 (Two) academic years is 24 (twenty four) months after enrollment.

Conduction of Examination ii) Two examiners will evaluate two groups of scripts. They will also conduct Oral examination and will review documents of formative examinations Assistant professor having the degree on health professions education/medical education as one of the following degrees: PhD, MSc, MMEd, MHPEd or equivalent degree rocognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC) duly appointed by the Controller of Examinations as per the recommendation of the Dean of the Faculty of Basic Science & Paraclinical Science, BSMMU may also be paper setters. Moderator will be not below the rank of Associate professor having the degree on health professions education/medical education as one of the following degrees: PhD, MSc, MMEd, MHPEd or equivalent degree rocognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC) duly appointed by the Controller of Examinations as per the recommendation of the Dean of the Faculty of Basic Science & Paraclinical Science, BSMMU. |

9.1 |
Part III course is of One year duration. Students shall have to work on a selected topic in the field of Medical Education and prepare a thesis during one year period. |

Candidates must pass all papers of Part I and Part II examinations of MMEd course to be eligible for enrolment into Part III |

10.1 |
a) A candidate for the degree of Masters in Medical Education (MMEd) shall be required to carry out a research work in the field of specialization (health professions education/medical education) under the direct guidance of a supervisor approved by Faculty of Basic Science & Paraclinical Science, BSMMU for this purpose. |

10.2 |
a) Thesis guide/supervisor shall be appointed by the dean of the Faculty of Basic Science & Paraclinical Science, BSMMU on recommendation of the institute where a candidate has enrolled for the Part III course |

|||||||||||||||||||||||

10.3 |
The thesis shall embody the results of candidates own research and be accompanied by references to the publications quoted |
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||
|
10.4 |
A thesis must attain high standard and be satisfactory as regards to scientific work and literally presentation as well as other respects. |
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||
|
10.5 |
A thesis must typed in presentable form in prescribed format. The thesis shall normally be of 80-120 pages of A-4 size paper in length inclusive of tables and graphs but exclusive of bibliography and appendices. The thesis should be bound in hard cover with the title, name of the author and particulars of the course and year on the front cover. |

10.6 |
a) The thesis guide must have the degree on health professions education/medical education as one of the following degrees: PhD, MSc, MMEd, MHPEd or equivalent degree rocognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC) and must currently possessed in the post not below the rank of Associate Professor. Thesis guide shall have evidences of research works in the form of publications. |

10.7 |
A candidate must submit four copies of his thesis to the Controller of Examinations within the prescribed time through the Institute along with examination forms. |

|||||||||||||||||||||||

10.8 |
A candidate whose thesis has been satisfactory but who fails to pass thesis defense and Comprehensive oral examination may be readmitted for subsequent examination on payment of usual fees on each occasion. However he/she shall not be required to submit a fresh thesis. |
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||
|
10.9 |
If a thesis needs gross modification for any reason, a candidate has to modify or re-write the thesis and re-appear in subsequent examinations on payment of usual fees. |
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||
|
11 |
A candidate must Pass final examination within five years of enrolment into the course. |
|

13 |
A thesis which has been accepted shall become the property of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) and one copy shall be placed in each of (i) BSMMU Library (ii) Bangladesh National Health Library and Documentation Centre, Mohakhali, Dhaka (iii) The library of the Institute where the candidate was enrolled ((iv) Respective department/ Institute within two weeks of publication of results. |
